One of the most successful products for optimising air handling unit installations is the EC Fan Grid. These are EC fans mounted in a matrix that replace older, large fans (usually belt-driven) and thus achieve greater energy and economic savings.
The special distribution of these EC Plugfan backward blade fans achieves the maximum adaptability in each project: one of the main characteristics of Airtècnics and Rosenberg.
The latest example of a Rosenberg retrofit project is the replacement of a large belt-driven fan in a hospital ventilation system with several smaller EC fans installed in a matrix.
This form of installation distributes a more uniform airflow through the duct, which results in higher efficiency of air handling unit components such as filters, heat exchangers, etc.
This redundant system is favourable in case of failure of one of the fans, because the performance of the unit is not interrupted as the other fans continue functioning.

Another advantage of the EC Fan Grid renovation of ventilation systems is the increased hygiene, which is essential in the healthcare sector, as the abrasion of the belt drive is eliminated.
In addition, cleaning the system is much easier and more convenient thanks to the reduced space between the EC fan wall compared to a larger fan that takes up almost the entire surface of the housing.
