An ECFanGrid project is a fan wall consisting of several EC motor turbines operating in parallel. ECFanGrid retrofit projects are mounted on a metal plate with all hardware to fit the internal dimensions of the AHU.
This solution is intended to replace direct or DC drives, which consume a lot of energy and are costly to maintain. This solution provides energy savings of more than 50% in some applications (according to IEC 60034-30), with efficiencies higher than IE5.
Our partners at Rosenberg France were successful in a project to replace a belt and pulley fan in a factory of one of the largest manufacturers of adhesive components.
The old belt pulley fan was bulky, inefficient and the motor regularly failed due to an imbalance in the drive shaft system. On these occasions, the best solution was the EC fan wall (ECFanGrid).
A 6x3 configuration with 9 fans was selected. With this arrangement, future plant expansion plans could be taken into account. In this system the existing airflow can be doubled by adding up to 9 additional fans.
