Henkel has relied on Airtècnics Exeltec's distributor to install in one of its factories in France, air curtains: the most effective and environmentally friendly solution in the fight against insects.
The air barrier produced by the curtain exerts a force greater than that of the flying insect and thus restricts its passage through the accesses, as it encounters a resistance that prevents it from following the trajectory inside, as shown in scientific studies.
This insect entry prevention system avoids the use of pesticides and is also an efficient way of saving energy by preventing the exchange of air from the outside to the inside and vice versa. This considerably reduces the effort required for air conditioning.
In this case, a high-powered curtain would be required for the truck entrances, which is why an air curtain from the anti-insect range was chosen. Specifically, two two-metre Fly KXL air curtains were installed, recommended for industrial accesses of up to 4 metres in height, according to NSF 37 standard.
This model is manufactured with a self-supporting galvanised steel frame and has an epoxy-polyester paint finish in white as standard, although other colours from the RAL chart or stainless steel can be chosen on request.
The maintenance of this air curtain is not intensive thanks to the large-area faceted suction grille. In addition, as a unique feature of this model, it includes a discharge kit with linear diffusers of anodised aluminium airfoil type blades, adjustable 15º in both directions.
