Some projects require unobtrusive installations for ventilation equipment. The Invisair air curtains model from the Airtècnics catalogue fulfils this function perfectly. Invisair air curtains are part of the recessed range. They have a very special characteristic; the expulsion is made through a nozzle that leaves a reduced space for the expulsion slats.
The installation we present here was carried out by the French distributor Exeltec. Together with the engineering firm Lefort Francheteau, has come up with a very special design for the historic building that houses the Science Po university in the Parisian city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
In the installation shown here, two Invisair air curtains have been installed vertically on either side of the door inside a column. The special feature of this project is that the extraction is also located inside the columns and the air circulates from the false ceiling.
This is a variant that makes it possible to have an installation in which the only visible part of the air curtains are the expulsion louvres. In this way, the ventilation devices are integrated and go completely unnoticed in the building environment.
They have been installed in two opposite entrance areas in the entrance hall of the building. One of the doors opens onto a corridor leading to the street; on the other side, there are several doors leading to an inner courtyard with arcades.
This distribution facilitates the generation of draughts, which cause losses in the air conditioning with the consequent energy and economic costs. The air curtains are effective in their energy-saving function, as disappearing this draughts.
