The Zen air curtains are one more complement to the construction of the Al Zahia City Center shopping centre in the UAE, thus joining a long list of commercial establishments in the Arabian Peninsula that are equipped with Airtècnics air curtains. The complex, which also includes a residential and office complex, is located in the city of Sharjah, about 30 kilometres away from the economic centre of Dubai.
The decorative Zen air curtains have been installed at a key pollution point in the building: the entrances to the underground car parks. The lack of natural ventilation and the pedestrian access doors to the commercial or office areas encourages a chimney effect that draws in gases and pollution generated by vehicle exhausts.
This problem is solved by the installation of air curtains that create an invisible barrier that prevents draughts from entering buildings through doorways. These ventilation devices are the main source of energy and cost savings, as they prevent the loss of fresh indoor air.
The models chosen for this luxury building have been the Zen air curtains, a curtain with a sober and minimalist design, easily integrated in any environment and the most customisable of all the Airtècnics models.
For this project, the curtains have been painted in graphite grey (RAL 7024) available in the catalogue of finishes. They are not heated and are designed as an exclusive invisible barrier. As a complement, they have been installed with Clever control.
